New Equine Anti-Doping & Controlled Medication Regulations come into force on 05 April 2010

Franz Venhaus, Thursday, 11 March 2010

Next month, the FEI will introduce its revised Equine Anti-Doping & Controlled Medication (EADCM) Regulations. Equestrian Australia is bound to use this new system and has published a version adapted for Australian conditions, to apply to non-FEI events held in this country.

The major changes to current/existing rules can be summarised as follows:

1. A separation of rules for 'doping' and 'controlled medication' offences

2. Specific lists of  banned substances

3. An increased scope for penalties including for a wider group of people.

Please reade the regulations and the Athletes’ Guide to get thorough understanding of the new regime.

Please note: All competitors in FEI Events will also be required after 05 April 2010 to keep a log of medications administered to their horses.  You will be able to download this log and keep it with your FEI or EA Horse Passport.
